Great pack
Great pack to dip my toes in to the world of shampoo bars... loving it so far :)
Wanted to love this
Have used Heali Kiwi Calming Solid Shampoo Bar Mini for 2 weeks, but scalp is itchy when was well controlled with previous shampoo. Makes hair literally squeaky clean though! Really wanted it to work for me. The In The Buff Unscented Solid Conditioner Bar Mini is a lovely product - leaves hair shiny & silky. Not sure which one is irritating me.

Hi,
Thank you so much for your review, although I'm so sorry to hear that Heali Kiwi is irritating your scalp a bit!
This could have happened for a couple of reasons. The first reason is that this product may potentially be a reaction of sorts - unfortunately for those with sensitive skin, naturally derived ingredients, such as essential oils for example, can be problematic. Do you have any known allergies or sensitivities to ingredients?
The other reason could be that you may be using too much product. May I ask how you are currently using this one? I've copied some info on how to best use our bars below - apologies if you're already using the bars this way!
Our bars are very concentrated and only a small amount of product is needed. We recommend thoroughly wetting your hair (and wetting the bar too), gently swiping it just a few times from root to tip (4-5 times), then placing the bar down and building up a lather with your fingers. As tempting as it is, there's no need to keep swiping the bar to hair until a lather begins to build; by this stage, it's likely that too much product has already been deposited to strands. If you have oily hair, we recommend washing twice. Another common issue is that customers will lather the bar in their hands like soap however this doesn't give you enough product at all and you'll essentially be cleaning your hands instead!
Similarly, only a few swipes of our conditioner bars are needed (4-5) - hair won't feel slippery on application the way it will with liquid conditioners, but the silky magic happens when the conditioner is rinsed out.
If you have thick hair, to make applying product easier, I'd recommend sectioning hair into two or four, and rubbing the bar on each section to make sure there is enough product distributed - but a little goes a long way, so make sure you aren't using too much! 😊
Here are some helpful videos of how to use our bars (and to see how well our shampoos lather!) : https://ethiqueworld.com/pages/how-to-get-the-best-from-your-bars.
Consistency is also key to care for your scalp (washing relatively often), especially when it's a bit more sensitive!
Have you tried the Bar Minimum Shampoo that's in the Discovery Pack you have? How did you find this one?
Please flick us an email at hello@ethique.com as we do have a product guarantee and would love to arrange something for you 😊

Love the combo!
Type 1A hair with oily sensitive scalp/dry hair. I'm new to Ethique, but have tried several other bars. I'm a convert! I appreciate the sample pack and I really love that there's so many options for sensitive scalps! I usually hate scents, and I though I would like the unscented the most. But turns out it was a bit to drying for me, and the lime works best for me, and the scent is not too strong either. I also tried the clarifying and it was a bit too strong, but I think I might use it in the future combined with the lime.
