Almost 200 million plastic lip balm tubes are binned every year and the vast majority are never recycled. So, we think lips need a shake-up.

We've created a range dedicated to doing good; for the planet, for people and of course, for your lips.

Do good for your lips – So Cocoa is pure decadence, with oodles of organic, fair trade cocoa butter which isn't just fabulous for your lips but smells like a Belgian chocolatier too. We add in moringa, jojoba and castor oils for some serious luxury and a dab of vitamin e. On application of our lip balms, 94% of testers found an immediate improvement in the appearance of dry lips! So Cocoa is so good, you’ll never lose the tube!

Do good for the planet – plastic-free, home compostable packaging (yes the tube!).

Do good for people - Carefully crafted with luxurious fairly traded sustainable ingredients from Rwanda, Ghana and Samoa to help support farming cooperatives (predominantly women owned) in these regions. Direct trade ensures that local growers receive stable prices and, reliable income which means in turn they are better able to look after their community and their environment.

Caprylic/capric triglyceride, Theobroma cacao (cocoa) seed butter, Euphorbia cerifera cera (candelilla wax), Simmondsia chinensis (jojoba) seed oil, Ricinus communis (castor) seed oil, stearic acid, Moringa oleifera seed oil, aroma, linalool, limonene

Push (not twist) up base of tube (just a little!). Gently press onto lips, allowing it to warm for a few seconds. Then glide across lips for soft, smooth nourishment.

Pushed up too much? Give the base a light tap on a flat surface or the palm of your hand and the product will lower back into the tube.

Store at room temperature. Keep dry, away from moisture, and out of direct sunlight.

If stored somewhere cold, we recommend holding it to skin for a few seconds to warm it up so it glides on easily with application.

    Definitely moisturizing, but can get messy easily

    While I've tried a few of Ethique's lip balms and will definitely say that this one is the most moisturizing, it is also the softest one so it can get messy. Even if you're careful putting it on, it will still smush down a bit out on the sides and then makes the whole tube sticky. If you accidentally push up the tube too much, then you cannot push it back down without ruining it. Otherwise, it does what it needs to do and the light scent is great.

    So good!

    Thanks so much for your review! If you ever find you're pushing up more product than you need, simply tap the bottom of the tube on a hard surface a few times until the product descends below the tube lip.

    This lip balm is truly healing, even for my very dry lips. It may a bit too rich for day wearing (for me) but the best I have ever tried as a night lip mask or for healing my lips if too dry.
