I bought this thinking it was the Guardian just with a rebrand - new name/colour/shape/scent - and have been puzzled as to why my hair isn't responding the same to it. I've not been able to compare the ingredient list but see in a response below that there have indeed been other changes. Maybe they're minor, but why change something that was perfect already? "If it ain't broke..."
This one 'Everyday Shine' unfortunately leaves my hair more frizzy/fluffy/dry - it takes days to settle down (and lots more argan oil); it takes a lot more swiping to get slip - it just doesn't detangle or condition like The Guardian did. I have used the Guardian consistently since 2018 and only ever given it 5 stars. I don't want to go back to bottles, so I'll forgo this one and give the new Hydrating Conditioner a go instead in the hope that it's even better... Au revoir Guardian, you will be missed! ๐ข

Everyday Shine is the updated version of The Guardian โ with the same base formulation, but a few small changes: we added Vitamin C, and refreshed the scent from lime to a soft blend of pink grapefruit and vanilla. While the core purpose and performance are intended to match, we completely understand that even subtle differences can feel big when you're used to a bar thatโs worked so well for so long.
Weโd really love to hear how you go with the Hydrating Conditioner โ itโs a brand-new formulation to the range, designed for even deeper moisture and nourishment. Thanks again for taking the time to share your experience โ and for being part of the Ethique community since 2018!

I love how light and yet very moisturizing this conditioner is--I have fine hair that can get oily pretty fast and this conditioner makes it look SO lovely and much less dull. Plus, it does not weigh my hair down and still achieves the level of moisture that I need.
