The Truth Behind Our Changing Product Line
Okay, let's get real for a sec. You've probably noticed that our Ethique lineup has been streamlined lately. And no, it's not because we suddenly decided to Marie Kondo our entire range (though we do love a good declutter). We know some of you are ride-or-die fans of the products we've had to say goodbye to.
It wasn't an easy decision, and we want to be fully transparent about why we've made these tough calls.
Sustainability and Sales
Some products, despite having loyal fans, weren't selling in large enough quantities. As a brand committed to sustainability, we faced a difficult dilemma. Continuing to produce these items in small batches wasn't environmentally or economically viable. When products don't sell quickly, they risk expiring before reaching customers, potentially creating unnecessary waste. Additionally, we often had to ship small amounts of these products as one-offs, which increases our carbon footprint. All of this goes against our core mission of reducing environmental impact.
Our Small (But Mighty) Team
While we're proud to be a global brand, we're still a relatively small company at heart. Our dedicated team of ~25 manages everything from product development to customer service. Maintaining our previously extensive range was becoming challenging without compromising on quality or service. By streamlining our offerings, we can ensure that each product receives the attention and care it deserves.
Focusing on Our Strengths
Haircare has always been at the heart of Ethique, and it's where we shine and see the most potential for innovation. By concentrating our efforts, we're able to invest more time and resources into developing new, exciting hair products that align with your needs and our sustainability goals. We're committed to bringing you even more effective, ethical hair solutions in the future.
